Treatment for inmates struggling with substance abuse and addiction.Drug and Alcohol Treatment (Phoenix House).It is the hope of the Detention Division, that with the help of grant money, the Inmate Welfare Fund, volunteer services, and community partnerships, the jail is able to provide inmate program participants with a head start and prepare them to return to the community. One of the goals of the Detention Division is to provide appropriate services to as many inmates as possible and release inmates with more skills, education, and resources than they had prior to booking. These programs are designed to aid inmates in a successful re-entry into the community upon release from jail. IWF's primary sources of revenue are the sale of commissary items and Inmate Industry operations.Through the authority of the Detention Division of the Yolo County Sheriff’s Office, inmates may be assessed to determine their needs and eligibility for in-custody programs. Inmate services/programs are primarily funded through the Inmate Welfare Fund (IWF). ![]() They also deliver requested religious materials, and they review all requests for religious diets. Chaplains provide counseling, religious services, and bible studies. They manage over 200 volunteers who donate their services and assist the chaplains in meeting the diverse religious and spiritual needs of all inmates. All libraries are staffed and maintained by an on-site librarian. A reference library provides books for use during scheduled visits. A wide selection of books and periodicals are available for check out. Library Services include full-service browsing libraries for both male and female inmates. Inmates also learn to operate various landscaping equipment properly and safely. This program teaches inmates landscaping skills such as soil preparation, planting and maintenance of trees, shrubs, bushes, flowers, grass and other ground covers and irrigation system maintenance. WCDF Vocational instructors also provide letters of recommendation for released inmates seeking employment in the community. Inmates learn valuable skills that can be utilized to secure stable employment upon their release from custody. Customers include any government agency, non-profit organizations, and Sheriff’s Office employees. It offers a wide variety of products and services such as engraving, vinyl banners, signs (both inside and outside), sublimation, framing, and matting. This program includes the Sign/Engraving Shop and the Frame Shop.
